In the morning, we walked down a few hallways from the hotel to the international concourse to catch our flight to Phuket. I never thought that I would be one of those people to stay at an airport hotel, but the convenience factor is a major benefit and with a kid, we couldn't have asked for a better accommodation.
The flight from Kuala Lumpur to Phuket was just over an hour, but we got a full meal and two drink services. I can't remember the last time I got meal service on a flight in the US, let alone a short flight. International air travel is so much better than in the US.
Welcome to Phuket. The airport is tiny and there are only a handful of flights going in and out daily.
From the airport to the Club Med resort was an hour shuttle ride. After about 15 minutes, Elizabeth fell asleep and slept the rest of the way to the resort. The rocking motion of a vehicle puts her to sleep often.
Welcome to Club Med Phuket! Sleepy baby.
We were greeted with flower leis, fresh lemon scented towels, and delicious teas and water. Even the fragrance of the air was sweet at the resort with all the fresh flowers in bloom in the garden and in vases near every sitting area. The air was a warm 85 degrees but with the overcast skies and slight breeze off the ocean, it was perfect, non-burning and comfortable.
Our deluxe room with a sitting area. They also put a crib in the room, but we ended up using it as a storage for Elizabeth's toys and miscellaneous stuff.
Playing peak-a-boo in the closet. -S
Man... I wish we were able to go there like you guys... Club Med reminds me of our honeymoon. We went to Bintan Islands. That was like 12 years ago. Ellie looks like she had a great time.
