Nourishment at Club Med

Every morning we woke early and ate a grand breakfast.  The breakfast menu at Club Med is always the same.  Fruits, salads, cheeses, breads, American style breakfast items (eggs, sausage, potatoes, etc), French breakfast items (danishes, crepes, quiches, etc), and some Chinese and Thai foods, which seemed more like lunch than breakfast foods.  We tried to eat lots of fruit and some of the French foods for breakfast, trying our best to keep it light because the lunch and dinners had many things to enjoy.  Dragon fruit is our now favorite fruit.  First time trying it, but loved it.  It has black seeds like a kiwi, in a white flesh, sweet tasting and juicy.  Can you spot it on the video clip?

After breakfast, we always went for a long walk on the beach.  It would have been nice if Elizabeth walked in the water, but she is afraid of the waves.  So we ended up taking turns carrying her for an hour or two.

Watch out for the jellyfish!  Especially the ones washed up on shore.  We only saw a few here and there, but this one was so huge, we had to take a picture of it.

Dinners were a bit more formal, so we did dress up some, beach style.  We bought a few outfits from the nearby stores as souvenirs, but ended up wearing all of them before we came home.  This dress is a size too big for Elizabeth, but she insisted on wearing it after she saw mommy and daddy wearing our new clothes.  The lunch and dinner menus were amazing.  It was a self-serve buffet, but you had a choice of Thai, Japanese, Korean, French, and American dishes.  In each country's corner, there was at least 10 different choices, ranging from entrées, soups, staples and side dishes.  Then there was a huge section of appetizers, salads, breads, cheeses, and desserts, in a separate area from the themed foods. On this particular evening, Elizabeth is eating a Japanese hand-rolll and a beef wellington.  After finishing the hand-roll, she asked for more so Tim brought her three more and she finished them all, the non-raw kind. -S
