Today we spent a few hours at the mall with my friend Julie and her three kids. The ages of her kids are 4, 2.5, and 9 months. Even with three kids she did better than Elizabeth and I. All three were well behaved and ate their snacks quietly, while Elizabeth was whining and wanting to be held the whole time we were there. Since last week, she has grown this new attachment to me and wants to be held all the time. I try to put her down and let her cry it out, but I can only stand to hear her cry a few minutes, tops. I realize I am aiding her attachment but what's a mother to do?
I am in the process of researching a new baby carrier. I've been using the Moby Wrap and Tim uses a Chicco front carrier. Both have been great thus far. The Moby can be used all ways, including the front, back, side, nursing positions, sleeping positions, but the back wrap doesn't feel as sturdy so I haven't been using it that way much. If I could put her on my back with another carrier or if she would play in her crib by herself, the house would be a much cleaner place.
