For the past week or so, Elizabeth has been taking three long naps a day. Before, she was sleeping about an hour per nap, but now it's up to two hours. I let her sleep until she wakes herself up, but now I'm starting to think that maybe she is sleeping too much. Is this possible? She still sleeps through the night as usual. She may be going through a growth spurt or teething may be making her tired as well. We have a visit to the doctor for her 6 month checkup tomorrow, I will ask the doctor about it then.
A baby her age needs a total of 14-15 hours of sleep. So I think if she's getting that, it should be fine.
ReplyDeleteShe'll probably drop her morning nap soon...I don't think you should worry too much.
Lily never did 3 naps, only 2 and then dropped the morning nap around 10-11 months...grrrr. Now she only needs 12-14 hours of sleep a day. She sleeps at 8:30, wakes up at 7:30 and takes a nap from 12-2.
