Disney California Adventure Park

What an incredible start to our vacation at Disney Resorts.  Today was a fantastic day.  We woke up super early around 4AM and ate breakfast and then everyone fell back asleep at 6AM.  Jet lag!  We then finally woke up at 10AM.  We missed the early entrance into the park that the guests of the hotel get, but it was not crowded when we got in around noon.  If we ever go back to any Disney resort, it will have to be the first week in November.  There were hardly any lines and if there was one, it was less than a 20 min wait.  Awesome!  Our first ride was the Little Mermaid at California Adventure Park.  Elizabeth has a collection of many Disney movies, but the Little Mermaid is not one of them.  Naturally, she did not recognize any of the characters, but was amazed at all the moving sea animals.  She could not take her eyes off of them.  There was no crying today and neither child was afraid.  We kept to the easy and slow rides and spent most of the day in the children's area.

The first snack of the day was a Mickey Mouse shaped ice cream on a stick.  We ate lunch in our hotel room before we entered the park, so Daddy gave in when Elizabeth asked for dessert soon after the mermaid ride.  We only bought one Mickey, because Elizabeth usually eats about half an ice cream cone before she tires or it starts to drip and she has had enough.  However, with the temperate weather and the ice cream being frozen solid, it took a while before it started thawing.  Elizabeth finished the last of it on the Ferris wheel, while we took in the view.  Mommy and Daddy did not even get a taste or be forced to enjoy her leftovers.  Vincent also enjoyed a meal while rotating in the sky.

We stayed at the Paradise Hotel, the towers on the left side that are marked green and yellow.  There is a newer spa hotel, seen on the right which is red and white in color.  The entrance to the park is attached to this newer hotel.  Next time, it will be more convenient to stay at that hotel.

Elizabeth rode the carousel four times!  It may have been her favorite ride.  She especially liked it when she spotted a familiar face in the crowd while it spun in circles.

Before coming to the Disney Resorts, we told Elizabeth that we were getting on a plane to go to "Mickey's House". She is a big fan of Mickey and Minnie Mouse and she was so ecstatic to finally meet him in person. She stood in line twice to say hello and even got his autograph.

Vincent was such a good sport throughout the whole day. We carried him half the time and then the other half, he either played in his car seat or slept in there. It could have been the jet lag making him sleepy or the constant movement of the stroller lulling him asleep, but either way, he was a great baby, allowing his sister to have all the fun she wanted.  We ended the day by visiting the Lego store.  Elizabeth loves her blocks and so does her Daddy!  If we had some room in our suitcase, we would have bought a few sets, but that'll have to wait for another time or an older Elizabeth.  Below are two videos, one of Elizabeth having some fun on the rides and the other, of an amazing water show, "World of Color", at the California Adventure Park. -S
