Time to steal the show

One of my cousins here in Korea got married today. I normally work on Sundays, but I managed to get out a few hours early to attend the wedding up in Seoul. We arrived just before the ceremony was to begin, but we were apparently "late" because there were no seats in the main room. We ended up standing in the back for a little bit and then moved to the "overflow" area, where meal service had already begun...during the ceremony. The food was pretty good. It was western style with steak and mashed potato and something that tasted like cream of broccoli. Elizabeth really liked the soup and had a few bites of the steak. Then she found some friends and started running around. After eating, we made our way up to the front where the whole family was seated. They were all happy to see us and really happy to see Elizabeth. All of my girl cousins were excited to see our kid saying things like "She's so cute" or "She's so pretty". They were taking pictures of her on the cat-walk/runway, trying to get high-5's, and wanting to hold her. Even some of the staff at the wedding hall played with her a little as they were moving to set up for the next wedding. It seemed as though Elizabeth got more attention from the family today than the groom or bride. Well, what can I say? She is a cutie. -T

This is the biggest birthday cake ever!  Blowing out make believe candles.
Ah!  I found some real candles to blow out. I'm sure the staff really enjoyed relighting all of the arrangements for the next wedding.

Mustang Club

After living in Korea for a year, we finally ate at a steak restaurant.  A good steak restaurant is hard to find and quite expensive, in a land that nearly imports all their beef.  Tim's coworker recommended we try the Mustang Club on Osan Air Base, so we went there after Sunday evening service on base.  Due to a change in Tim's work schedule, we now attend the base church instead of the baptist church outside base.  Also, it has a nursery and bible study for toddlers and Elizabeth has no problems going there to play for over an hour.

The Mustang Club is very similar to the Outback Restaurant back home.  Even the menu resembles many similar items.  For the appetizer, we ordered the "Bloomin' Onion" equivalent and one baked potato soup for Elizabeth.  The soup was served in a kettle and was so large, we were able to split it three ways and everyone got their fill.  Tim ate the NY strip and I had the prime rib for dinner.  Elizabeth loves meat too, so she ate four long strips of the prime rib.  We ended up having leftovers, so Elizabeth had prime rib and homemade mashed potatoes for lunch the next day too.

There are no pictures of us eating steak, because we were so immersed in our food, we forgot to take any.  -S

Lovingly enjoying her soup....then
Don't eat any of my crackers!
I'm not sharing anymore of my soup either!

Someone is turning 2

Yes, Elizabeth is now 2. She's offically not a baby anymore. Last week, we sent a cake and some 떡 (rice cake) to school with her so that she could have a small birthday party at school. Today, we had a nice breakfast with another cake just for us. Elizabeth really liked blowing out the candles, so we let her do it again. Happy Birthday, our little sweetheart.

For her birthday, she received Crocs, an alphabet play dough set, coloring books, reading books, plastic golfing set, DVDs, and lots of love from mommy and daddy. -T
