Time to move

We finally left the confines of the hotel room we were in for the past month and moved into our brand new apartment. And I mean brand new. The complex just opened a couple of months earlier and we are the first tenants in our unit. It's nice that we got into a new place so that we don't have to worry about an older apartment that could have mold.

Our shipment containing our stuff wasn't going to arrive for another week, so we had to make due with what we had. Elizabeth didn't have a lot of her toys except for the few small ones that we brought with us. But, she managed to keep herself entertained...with a random box...i.e. our dinner table. It's just the right height for her to play and climb on top of it.

Elizabeth is enjoying a meal in her new home. She really likes Korean soups, so here she is having some Galbi-tang (갈비탕).

After receiving our shipment, we had the fun job of unpacking and organizing. Elizabeth thought that it was time for her to climb into an open suitcase and play around in there.

Our apartment complex has three different playgrounds, although one of them is definitely more for older kids. Elizabeth went out to to see the playgrounds and got to go down her first real slide. Even though we were holding her, she still had fun.

Elizabeth really likes the swings. She probably likes the wind in her hair. -T

Spring Flowers Festival in Yeouido (여의도) Park

Every April, there are plenty of flower festivals all around Korea. We went to the Spring Flowers Festival in Yeouido (여의도) Park. They had on display all sorts of colorful flowers along with interesting flower incorporating artwork. The street behind the National Assembly building is lined with over 1400 cherry blossom trees. An amazing sight in itself.

On the way to Seoul. We took the Osan to Yongsan, base to base only bus. Nice direct ride. Here we are sitting in the front seat.

April Activities - Getting adjusted in Korea

Welcome to American soil in Korea. Inside the main gate at Osan Air Base.

Elizabeth loves playing on the small playground at the Base Exchange food court. It's always a struggle to get her to go home. She just wants to climb the jungle gym and go down the small slide. It's just her size.


Playing in the hotel room is no fun...can't wait until the weekend so I can travel!


First time on the subway. Going to Bucheon (부천) to visit Sana's Aunt's (이모) family.

Another weekend in April, we traveled to Elizabeth's Great Grandma's home in Anmyeon-do (안면도).

It took some time, but after a few hours, Elizabeth became comfortable with her Great Grandma. So nice to meet you! -S

Celebrating Daddy's Birthday at the Strawberry Festival

On Tim's birthday, we went to a strawberry farm. Everyone had a delicious time, especially Elizabeth. She loves strawberries, just like her mama. When we got to the strawberry farm, she was still asleep, but she awoke to the sweet aroma. She must have eaten at least a half dozen in the car, on the way home. We will never forget the fun we had at the farm, especially since the strawberry stains never came out of our clothes. -S

First Meal in Korea

The morning after we arrived in Korea, we went out to eat some Chinese Noodles - 짜장면. It is colder in Korea than Denver, all bundled up.

Elizabeth gets noodles without any black bean sauce. We haven't figured out our laundry situation yet, so clean eating on this day. -S

Moving to KOREA!

Back in March, we moved to Korea for Tim's job. This is a temporary position that will last at least one year. Here is a record of our journey. We only had two weeks to pack up and get ready, so here we are in a rush to box everything up. Elizabeth is trying to help us by playing in the boxes.


Our flight was delayed because of a snowstorm. We were suppose to leave on March 23rd, but ended up leaving on March 25th. Here is our last meal. Ironically, it is at a Korean restaurant. Elizabeth enjoys some nice soft tofu feed to her by her grandmother. Nutritious!


We had a long layover in San Francisco, so Elizabeth and Daddy walked around and enjoyed people watching. The pink blankie in her hand is her favorite sleep aid. We have three of them that we rotate in case it gets dirty or misplaced.

Ducky Birthday

Elizabeth also had a ducky themed birthday party at the Denver Children's Museum with all her friends. For the doljabi, we used rubber duckies dressed in occupations. Amazingly, she picked the doctor and surgeon, with no help from her parents. It was a good time, with friends. We hope Elizabeth will look back at her pictures and see how blessed she was to have multiple parties.

Ducky Birthday

Lucus' birthday party at Pump It Up

Today was an adventure at Elizabeth's first toddler birthday party at Pump It Up in Parker, CO. It is an inflatable bounce gym with lots of other activities. Elizabeth tried bouncing for the first time and daddy took her on the slide too. What fun! -S
